Re: Is a G-Loomis Worth The Money?
on 2013-05-16 20:01:21
Yes I believe they are. Problem is once you have one you'll want more and they are a little spendy. Here's what I have and absolutely love for different types of fishing. These 3 are my favs and are always with me.
6' GL3 med light fast: vertical  jigging and some pitching with mono
6'3" GLX med extra fast for pitching with nanofil
7' IMX med light extra fast casting light raps for eyes

I did just by a new Scheels One the other day and so far I'm really liking that too. The warranty is great as well as the price.

I keep a couple golf towels clipped in reachable places to dry my hands.
Tape measure of some sort.
Pee bucket.
Compass

I have 2 Sony's a 46" and a 40", but I love my 46" Vizio way more than I do the Sony's and they are all the same specs.

So far my favorite is a Scott Little Goose. Shorter is better when it comes to releases.

I suck when it comes to electronics. What's a 12v driver?

Very cool. Anybody good at this stuff that would want to rig my boat up like this?

Any preference between the vias and verde camo? All my gear is in the vias.

I have the Kuiu guide jacket, how does the Guide DCS compare to the original Guide jacket?

Oh and I have several core 4 merino wool base layers and I don't leave home without them. The boxer briefs are amazing on long trips when you only can pack a couple sets of underwear.

For a great layering jacket checkout the Kuiu Spindrift Jacket. Super lightweight and packable. I have Sitka and Kuiu gear and they both have perks. Pretty tough to beat the ascent and the 90% gear from Sitka though. I bought most of my gear for bow hunting out west and in Alaska but I find myself wearing it for about any type of hunting due to the durability, breathable, comfort qualities.
Re: Bismarck Mandan boat dealerships. Whats your experience?

My boat hasn't arrived from the Lund factory yet, but so far Dakota Sports has taken great care of me. This is my first new boat and they've made the buying process pretty dang fun and easy! Boat is scheduled to be at the dealership in the next week or two and I'm excited to pick it up when it's all rigged.

I ordered a new boat this year and shopped at Vallely despite all the bad things I had heard only because they were the only Lund dealer in Bismarck and I prefer to buy local.. I gave them a chance to get my business but they were so overpriced it was ridiculous! They were also trying to sell me features on the boat that come standard. Once I decided that I wasn't going to buy from them I personally went in to tell them why and hopes they would fight for my business and give me a reasonable price, which they still didn't. I was rudely told that I shouldn't bother coming in for any service work such as oil changes or any warranty issues as they wouldn't take care of me. Happy to drive the 100 miles for great customer service! If I hadn't done my research and called around I could have paid 22% more for the same boat. What a joke...

Good question, I'm looking forward to hearing the answer as well. Just ordered an HDS8 gen 2 and want the best map option.

Is this the bow that's for sale for a $1000? But only worth a couple hundred?

New favorite: Marinate venison backstrap in a bit of your favorite bourbon and olive oil. Then rub with Tatonka Dust. Throw on the grill till medium rare.
Mossy has been kind enough to share his Tatonka Dust during his production phase and I can't say enough about it. Pretty much put it on everything I grill.
