Report Details
Lots of places to fish, if you've got a boat there is a landing right in town and one at the dam which is north of town a mile or so.If fishing from shore there is plenty of access in town but it's a bit snaggy some places. If you drive down to the boatlanding in town look south and there are highline wires going across the river, walk down there and it's a good place to fish. Also on the north end of town by the water plant you can walk down and that's a good place to fish. Under the bridge on highway #66 is good, the dam is good, and there is a spillway north of the dam that is also good. To get to the spillway turn north where the road goes down to the dam and go over the cement bridge 1/2 mile north, there is a trail right to rivers edge when you cross the cement bridge.
Saugers should start any time, it varies from year to year but end of August to early September is usually when they start. Also, the baitshop is right in town north of the post office, in the same building as the bar, which is kind of handy.
