Raffle for ND Antelope tag, any takers?

Through legislative action the NDG&F Dept. issues the NDHEA an antelope tag to be used in a raffle every year with the proceeds closely monitored and used by NDHEA for specific purposes. Whether there is a general season or not someone will win an any antelope tag good for anywhere in the state during 2010. 

Not trying to twist any arms, but bowhuntin has sold more winning tickets on this raffle than anyone in the state. I'm going fishing, someone keep this in the top discussions will ya?

If this is for the youth would you execpt money from out of state for 2 tickets.  If so PM your address and I will send the money.

Because of a last minute mixup between NDHEA and the sponsor of the bill the antelope tag is only for residents. Certainly not my idea, in fact I worked to get this reversed right up until the bill went for reading.

That being said non-residents can still buy tickets and win any of the prizes except the antelope tag. If a non-resident is drawn for the antelope tag they would be awarded the $750.00 travel expense money and the tag would go unused that year.

I'll PM my address and look for the check.  

If I was to win I would just donate the money to a needy cause.   

I would think many of the ND resdents would buy up as many or all the remaining tickets just to keep a NR from winning.

I would think Stevy Pike and sportsman would buy them so I could get one.

Hope you sell them all!!!

This is a great cause bowhuntin and I applaud your efforts both in selling the tickets and volunteering your time for the youth.

Thanks for the nice words however there are many volunteer instructors across the state that give and give to this program.

The antelope tag legislation was introduced with the idea of raising money to fund several different programs the NDHEA was interested in pursuing. One was a mentored first time hunter program which matches a first time hunter with a certified hunter education instructor who accompanies them on their first hunt. The instructor serves only as a mentor, they do not carry firearms. The idea actually came about from an article written on FBO several years ago entitled "Pathways to Hunting."

The second program is family fun shoots which are held at ranges across the state. We pay for all expenses related to the shoot and participants have the opportunity to shoot shotguns, rifles, blackpowder, pistol and archery. We serve a meal at the end of the day and these have been a big hit.

We also do safety advertising over radio during hunting season. Time spots are bought and "A CHUM SPORT" is stressed in these ads.

The response so far as been very good, the drawing is held in Bismarck so I have to get the stubs in the mail by the end of the week if anyone else is interested.

How can they have an antelope raffle when the season's been cancelled?

That would be a historical first!

To be the only one who got to hunt an antelope in ND and have run of the state!

Imagine having the whole western part of ND to pick over the goat of your choice. Wow,That tag would be gold!

But only if I win it and it would actually be allowed.  Would be a sweet tag!

Why don't you guys buy a couple of tickets anyway it is for a good cause.   I did.
