HIGH and DRY!!! pt 1

Found this when I was out fishing on some back bay on Sakak. Thought it was pretty humorous. My buddies got a chuckle from the irony of the photo.
HIGH and DRY!!! pt 2

here is the funny part, and yes that was shoreline underneath the hull! (bet they had fun getting it back to the water?)
Grano gathering

Took this @ grano crossing Mon. evening. Makes for a good picture and whats better is everyone got along.
40 yard warthog

took this pig with my bow @ 40yds from a blind. His tusks are 12 3/4 long making both books of Rowland Ward and SCI.
big kudu

took this kudu @ 18 yds with my bow. He is 49 1/2 inches and misses the SCI book by 3/4 of and inch. I'm not complaining though. I passed on him the day before with the rifle.
gemsbok

This gemsbok went 38" long and makes SCI. Got it all on film too at about 80 yds.
impala

This is my 22" impala, I also got one 21 1/2 that actually scores better than this one. The other is much heavier.
wildebeest

This is a 28" wildebeest. He is a good one allowing him to make SCI record book. I also have this on video tape. Talk about a fun hunt!
zebra

I catch alot of grief over this one! I really wanted one of these after I decided to go to africa. They are truely a beautiful symbol of the dark continent. I plan to have a pedestal mount done of

Our south african guides carel and joc learning how to shoot bow. They thought this was heaven.
ND mountain lion

Here is a picture of bryan meyers with his 92lb female mountain lion he and his girlfriend took on the 16th of Nov. out by grassy butte. Congrats! She is a beauty!!
05' rifle deer

here is the deer i took on the evening of the 19th. I rattled him in from 1/4 mile away to 60yds about 15 minutes before sundown. What a rush! He grosses 152.
Pig Tailrace Walleye

Sometimes you don't have to backtroll to catch yourself big fish. This is backtroller with his 28" catch and release walleye from the race. Note the tag in the back. Nice job bud!
My Big Trout

For a while I thought I had the trout of all trouts 'till I pulled this big bugger out of the water. It weighed about 20lbs and gave me one of the fights of my life. I thought I felt a hit and set
Tailrace Limit!

Me and my buddies decided to hit the tailrace a few weeks ago. Had the best night of fishing we ever had down there. Over 25 walleyes and 2 small browns caught between 3 guys. What a rush!
The Boys

The Minot Scheels' boys hard at work on the tailrace. The night was pretty eventful with many people catching fish and great commeraderie.
Van Hook Arm Walleyes

Me and WSWAT decided to go pound some eyes and heres what we ended up with. Not too bad for a beautiful morning out on the lake. These eyes fried up the next night and were fantastic!
Dad's Buck Take Two

I'm like Tim, gotta get in the photo!
Dad's Buck

My dad, Wade, took this nice muley out in the badlands over the opener. Awesome hunt.
Good Day

Scheels' guys can catch fish!
2007 State Record Small Mouth Bass

Bruce Elberg did catch the monster and it weighed in at #6 13oz. He caught it while fishing for walleyes on lake darling on the lower part of the reservoir. He said he wasn't sure what he had on
Another Look

On the floor is my wildebeest rug. The zebra was in the state competition this year and took best overall big game head and best exotic. Nevada can work wonders with his creativity.
My North American Mounts

Two whitetails, two mulies and a goat.
Another Wall

On the left is the gemsbok and right is the kudu.
Finished Result

These are the euro mounts mounted on plaques painted black. The middle is a wildebeest with a warthog below it. Each side is an impala.
monster buffalo

Not sure what it weighed but it was huge. Also gave me one heck of a fight. Funny thing was it actually hit my crank!
Beauty and the Beast

Which is which? You decide!
Beauty and the Beast II

Another look at ugly. Not to mention that the fish isn't too pretty either!
Beauty vs. Beast

Who will win? It was a tough battle!
A lucky night at the Race

Here is one for the Photo contest. It turned out to be a beautiful night and the fishing was fantastic. This moment is what the race is all about.
2007 Archery Whitetail

Another look.
2007 Archery Whitetail

Here is the buck I shot 11-12-2007 with my bow He Gross scores 138 and some change. Shot him at 20 yds and he went about 300 yds after a liver shot. Was a real fun hunt. Got to find him with my dad
Cool Kitty II

Side view.
Cool Kitty

My father and I were out in the badlands looking for a large muley. Wade was waiting for me at an oil site to return from a walk when he noticed a couple does running through the canyon below him.
Blue Wildebeest

This was probably my most favorite picture I took while over in africa. This was a herd of wildebeest seeking refuge from the warm sun under a bunch of scrub trees lacking any leaves for cover. They
Young Elephant

This young elephant was out on a stroll looking its his herd. Unfortunately alot of the other elephants in the area were injured in a wildfire a week earlier.
One Big Boy

Caught this Rhino taking a cat nap under a scantily clad tree. As I approached for a closer shot he gestured to me that I had come close enough and stood up to face me.
Racing Stripes

This boy here was on his way for some water. The sun was high and heating the parched country fairly fast. Wish I had a saddle!
A Great Day

Solocam and I after a super day of hunting pheasants. This was the second to last weekend of the season and the birds were beautiful.
Two Of A Kind

These two giraffes were quite inquisitive of me taking their picture. They stuck around for a while to let me have my fun. They appear to be younger since they appear to not make the full 18' height.
A Good Night At The Race

Matt and Kellen with a nice stringer of eyes we caught while pitching cranks at the race.
Nice Eye at the Race

Here is a nice eye that decided to give me a run this summer. A good battle and if memory serves me well he went back to fight another day.
A Fair Catch

These boys thought they would cruise the shallows looking for a free meal. What they found was a leader, a hook and a smelt with me waiting on the other end of the line!
An Oddity

I was out in the badlands when I snapped this picture. Is it the sun or the moon? What do you think?
A Good Day For Fishing

Apparently everybody else thought so too. One of the ramps in the Van Hook Arm.
A Day That Will Live In Infamy

Shortly after the guy snapped this pic he missed a Mt. Lion. Oh well, maybe next time. They guy in the lower portion of the pic (don) didn't have a gun tag so he brought his short range 'rifle'.
Can You Identify?

I found this little fellow sitting against a building. Thought he was really pretty and unique. I think it is some form of a moth. Anybody know for sure?
Red Sky at Morning

This was taken at the skunk bay area on the first morning of the tournament. Turned out to be a nice day. The fisherman in the photo were the other half of the team.
Fog On the River

The air was as thick as pea soup. I was kinda spooky going down the river with no landmarks to guide oneself. After careful navigation we finally made it to the fishing hole and were greeted by small
Sun Spot

The sun was doing it's best to cut through the thick fog lighting the background revealing another boat. It took awhile but the sky finally cleared.
Kellen's Pike

Here's Kellen with his 13 pound pike. Riley is the other fellow.
The Release

She's swimming for another angler.
A Great Day's Fishing

The next few photos are of the nice fish from last Friday's outing. There were other quality fish but I didn't get a picture of Brent's 15#, Beechies 21#, or Brent's 18 to 19# pounder because
Smallies - Photo 4

Here is another good smallie I hooked up with and put forth a valiant fight before being measured, photgraphed and put back to fight another day.
Smallies - Photo 3

Here is my buddy backtroller on another outing we took to find some more smallies. A nice 17 3/4'. Needless to say, we found them! Thanks Matt!
Smallies - Photo 2

Here is a nice 18' smallie I nailed this spring while out doing some 'warm up fishing'. He was the biggest of several we caught that day.
Smallie Action

The next four photos are from some fishing this spring.
Here is my buddy matt holding up his biggest for the day. Went 17.5'. A real nice looking fish and put up one heck of a fight too!
More birds than Mott!

Found this photo while looking at a russian hunting site. Pictured is a hunt from the last day of pheasant season in the czech republic that was just 1 day of hunting. Flat Amazing!
Opening Buck - Photo 3

You know who this photo is for...
Opening Buck - Photo 2

Here's a different look.
Opening Buck

Here's a couple of photos of the buck I took opening night. 18 yards shot and 70 yards of tracking. It was a blast! Scored in the 140's with nearly perfect velvet.
Dunn County Muley

Another look.

31 smallies and 6 white bass in under 3 hours.
Bass hunting

Here are some fine largemouth I blasted from the waters in Africa.
A young juvenile male on the hunt

Here is a young male lion that we were lucky enought to catch in the open while he was stalking waterbuck with his sibling.
Brute of a Rhino

This big boy had been previously de-horned as a preventative measure to deter poaching. Only problem is a lot of poachers still kill them even if they don't have a horn. This way they don't have to
Site of a snare

The game scouts approaching an area where a poacher set some snares. (Note the zebra on the extreme left hand side of the photo, this animal was poached).
There are somethings money can't buy...

This is one of them. Items like this are so necessary yet so hard to get ahold of that no amount of money could talk the scouts into selling it for a souvenir. They are a very simple design but even
No sheds here

When in this country you can forget about finding old shed antlers. What you may find is an occasional horn broke off from a fight or the remains of an animal with his horns still firmly attached
Yotes

Went 2 for 3. Never got a shot at the third one. Guess it was his lucky day, not so much for these dogs.
My favorite trail cam pic from this year.

This pic was from the other day
Their first find

Took my kids out shed hunting yesterday and had some luck.
Ava's find

My daughter found the nicest shed of the day. A decent four point with a thick base.
A matched set

A righty and a lefty....just like my kids!
Tough winter

This is one of the 10 carcasses we found while shed hunting. I'm sure theres more but we didn't get to walk the whole area.
Hunting Pack

These killers are an amazing predator/scavenger. They'll eat anything, including leftover leopard baits that are over a week old. They have one of the sweetest sounding calls of anything i've
Daylight feeder

This boy came in early for his free meal. (time on the camera is set wrong, 7 hours early)
Just the right shooting light

Infrared works real well for pics of these guys at night. (Clock is off by 7 hours early)
In close with some tuskers

These elephants were migrating in from Botswana. It was a real treat getting in this close on them. During the whole time we were approximately 8'-10' vertical above 2 bulls that never had a clue
Monster Buff

We also got in close on a herd of Buffalo that supplied some very good photo opps. There were several nice bulls in the herd including this monster.
A nice bachelor bull

We tracked these bulls into the scrub acacia and spotted them laying down about 60 yards away. We thought 7 bulls in all. The wind was in our favor but a herd of zebra downwind caught our scent
African Wildcat

This is the animal to which scientist believe through DNA that domestic house cats originated from. This one is still wild however. He is much longer and more lanky and his orbits and eyeballs are
A very wide Kudu

Another look in the morning light
A very wide Kudu

I was crazy enough to pass on this Kudu bull. The game scout thought I was nuts and asked me "why dont you shoot him"? I was more focused at that time on the leopard that we were patiently
A hunters first

After about the 8th impala for bait we needed some camp meat. I decided it would be fun to try something different for a change and let Willie take to the sticks and i'd handle the video camera. After
The spotted dog

I knew I had a horseshoe when I shot this guy. The sound of crunching and tearing impala carcasses alerted us to his arrival. A botched attempt to light the bait with the flashlight sent the Hyena
Careful where you step

When making a move on the leopard it is imparative that you remain quiet and concise. You must move quieter and more stealthy than the predator you are pursuing. He is the king of this domain
Prince of Darkness

Traditional african cat carry
The Prince of Darkness

This was definately one of the most interesting and eye opening hunts i've ever participated in. I say participate because it not only involves yourself. It takes a team to make all the aspects work
Forks!!

Another view of this nice buck. (Sorry for the bad photos. My backpack and autotimer took the pictures).
Montana Muley Packout

Finally made it back to the truck!
Montana Muley Hunt

I got lucky this year and drew a Montana deer tag for the second year in a row. After finishing up the ND season with seeing nothing bigger in 4B than a 160" muley I jumped the border to finish
What is this?

My camera snapped a pic of this the other night. What is it?
What do you think it'll score?
