I know everyone thought this would be about the flood but it isn't.

I am thinking of heading up Friday early AM for a day trip and am wonderign if there is such thing as shore fishing right now? would it be worth it and where to go. Have no idea as I usually stay away from ND waters to preserve fish for the rest of yall, but in this case I need advice, greatly appreciate anything you have to offer. you can even PM me.

Swaney, the shore fishing is good up there but not easily accessible due to construction.  Also you sound like a jealous MN fisherman. hahaha

Don't really know what to tell you.

Last weekend, the construction areas looked like the Ho Chi Minh Trail.  Gobs of people and about 90% were Hmong.  Construction was shut down for the Holiday weekend so that was not an issue.

Mauvais looked like the best place to find a place to fish from shore along #19.

Six Mile, Mauvais, and the Flats all had areas where you could park and fish off the rip rap.  You will not be able to do that if the construction is going heavy and it will not be possible if we get some rain.

South of Minnewaukan they have been fishing off the road but I can't tell you exactly where.  Some people have been fishing the bridge on #281 near the Round Lake Ramp.

I haven't been over by the Wood-Rutten Road to see how it is there but last year the shore fishing there was good.

The best bite will from 9:00 P.M. till dark Swaney.  Don't expect much before that time from shore.

Agreed.  I went shore fishing on Monday night and we finally left at 11:45pm because it was getting late and fishing with my headlights was getting old.  Lots of small fish right now with keepers mixed in from time to time.  The fish were still biting when we left.  Your daytime bight will likely be fairly slow but not non-existent.

weather looks perfect to me. Windy is good for devils and clouds help me out a lot as well. I'd rather be in rain than sun while fishing. You can fish almost anywhere as long as there is shoulder and no construction. Hwy 20 is awesome... 19 is ok. Watcha fishing for anyways? Good luck.
