We used impala as bait. Would have to shoot them and then go hang them. The impala were like rats there, very hardy in that climate.

I'm not saying anyting bad whatsoever, but don't they have a bunch of starving tribe people that eat all the animals that hunters usually kill over there? Just curious.

again I am not implying anything negative by my question.

No harm in asking bowhunter. They do have hunger issues even in Zimbabwe. Unfortunately to hunt cats you need bait. Cat hunting is a big revenue stream for Zim and I guess they allow the meat to be used for that purpose. You still have to pay a smaller premium for every bait you shoot though and they get the money for that bait allocated to them or their "council" for supplies, food and other goods. We shot several impala there "free of charge" for camp meat as well to feed us and the villagers. All in all I was kinda tired of shooting impala so I decided to have a bit of fun with it. I turned over my rifle as I filmed my PH on a hunt for one and also let his tracker take another one for experience. The trackers face was so fun to watch as he got his first impala. It truley is an amazing experience over there, nothing like it in the world. I'll post some stills. Check out the video I posted on here in the video section.
