 Fishing on Big Stone Lake was excellent last week. Many of the anglers
fishing through out the week did well with nice limits of walleye including
the one over 20". We did see several walleyes 6 to 8 pounds that were
caught, photographed and released.

Fishermen working the weeds on the south end of the lake from
Skeleton Island to Ortonville and then from Ortonville up to the Peninsula
did well with a bottom bouncer/spinner/crawler combination. If you have
planer boards, use them to keep your gear out away from the boat.

There were also plenty of white bass, largemouth bass and northern caught
last week. Fishing has slowed with the cool front that moved in late Friday
and lasted through the weekend. Don't think the fish mind the wet weather,
but it slowed down the fishing pressure as anglers were not so eager to sit
in the rain to fish.

As the weather stabilizes the fishing should resume so that anglers can
continue to set the hook on some very nice fish.
